Todd Stromdahl – Detailed Home Inspection

After graduating from Barron Collier High School, Naples Florida, in 1983 Todd entered the Navy and found himself in Antarctica as an Electrician working on helicopters with the National Science Foundations/US Navy Antarctic Development Squadron 6. After three very cold seasons on the ice, he returned to Florida and worked for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Naples as a painter maintaining guest rooms and the common spaces. After leaving The Ritz, Todd worked for several years fabricating and installing custom stone countertops and floors.

In 1994 Todd and his wife moved to Hickory, North Carolina where they purchased their first home and restored it over the next eight years. When he wasn’t repairing something at home, Todd worked for Century Furniture making 18th century reproduction furniture. Later Todd spent several years with Owens Corning Roofing in the Jacksonville Florida facility working with 3-tab and architectural shingles.  That experience gave him a thorough working knowledge of roofing shingles and their proper installation.

Becoming a home inspector was a natural next step for Todd. He had always looked at homes a little more closely than other people with a passion for detail and the feeling that a home should be more than a box that we live in.
